A New Home for Harvest Glasgow
by Scott Hamilton on Tuesday, 1st May 2012
Just over a month ago we received a months notice from Strathclyde University that the space we have used for the past three years on Sundays would no longer be available to us. Excited by where God may be moving to us and believing firmly in the power of prayer it was so encouraging to see the church embrace this a something from God and not something to instill panic.
There were a variety of things we considered as we searched. We were determined about the value of being uncompromising about the space we would be using and saw scope even to improve space for services and our Higher Ground childrens ministry. We wanted to find a place that would minimise any additional difficulty in getting there for people who are already part of our church family. We also wanted to identify somewhere there might be an opportunity to be of impact even for a shorter season.
So, as of May 20th, this will be our new home- the Fotheringay Centre in Pollokshields. Owned by Hutcheson's Grammar School it is located close to two train stations and within five minutes drive from the Dumbreck exit to the M77. We believe this is going to be a great home for our church and are excited to see how the Lord will use us there.
Plans are under way to offer transport from the city centre for people who need it. If you require this please e-mail [email protected].
Our plans in the meantime are as follows:
May 6th: Meeting in the Graham Hills Building as normal
May 13th: Meeting in the John Anderson Building within Strathclyde University campus
May 20th will be our launch service in our new building so if you have always wondered about what Harvest is like that would be a great week to check us out. The address of the church on Sunday's will be Fotheringay Centre, Fotheringay Road, Glasgow.
