There are some things that are to be your priority as a pastor regardless of the pain it might cause you/problems around you.

2 Timothy isn’t just a pep talk by some sort of line manager. This is about pursuing the priorities of the Lord of Lords & the King of Kings.

Jesus is building His church, His Father is watching & we are called to be more focused on pleasing Him than pleasing whoever else is most critical/causing us concern/ making most noise around us.

The charge is simple: preach as one who is expecting King Jesus and as one who understands what is expected of you by King Jesus.

What I preach is as important as that I preach.

Opportunities will come up that will not be convenient, not be clean, not give you an opportunity to prepare in such a way as can make you seem clever. You’ve got to be ready.

If the preacher is to preach the word then that is going to cause a problem for the sin that is in him and the sin that is in his hearers.

Holiness is a progressive process.. The challenge is that not everyone will understand that/people underestimate how much work needs to go on in their hearts to get after tht.

Be careful in case your playlist of teachers only includes people who will tell you exactly what you want to hear.

Some days there will be pain, sometimes it will be a pain… it will always end in great gain.

In a world far from God there is great need to hold tight to Jesus in order to stand firm for Jesus.
