Getting to Harvest Glasgow This Sunday

We are looking forward to having you with us this Sunday at Harvest Glasgow. The Great Scottish Run is also happening this week which means there are some road closures around Glasgow that are worth you being aware of. The area around the church building is not too badly affected but it is worth checking to see what route is best for you this week.

To help you with this we want to give you a summary of affected routes and make some suggestions about how to get to us most easily. Please leave extra time for your journey.

The closest disruption is that Dumbreck Road will be closed meaning that junction 1 of the M77 will be closed and there will be no access to the church coming past Bellahouston Park and Pollok Park. Shields Road and Scotland Street will also be closed so exiting the M8 Eastbound with the aim of coming up Darnley Street will not be possible. Some parts of the Kingston Bridge and Clydeside Expressway are being used as part of the route for the run so it may be wise to avoid those.

Our suggestions are as follows:

From the Northwest: Travel through the Clyde Tunnel and aim to join the M8 at Helen Street (Beside Asda). Get onto the M74 and take the exit at Polmadie (Junction 1A/A728). Turn right under the M74 and drive until the next Junction (Calder Street) where you will want to be in the right lane to turn right onto Calder Street (A useful landmark here is Zion Baptist Church on the corner). Continue along Calder Street until you reach Pollokshaws Road. Continue across Pollokshaws Road until you reach a roundabout. Go straight at the roundabout heading for the traffic lights you will see there. Turn left at the Traffic lights and then right after Sainsburys Local. You will then be on Fotheringay Road.

From the West: Get onto the M74 and take the exit at Polmadie (Junction 1A/A728).

From the East and North East: Get onto the M74 and take the exit at Polmadie (Junction 1A/A728). Turn left at the traffic lights at the end of the slip road and drive until the next Junction (Calder Street) where you will want to be in the right lane to turn right onto Calder Street (A useful landmark here is Zion Baptist Church on the corner).
