Travel Arrangements for This Sunday

megaphoneDue to the Great Scottish Run there will be several significant road closures this coming Sunday (October 6). We want you all to make it along for the last part of our series on Romans 8, the final installment of Reading Romans with Rosey and little Eilidh Duncan being dedicated. To help you with this we want to give you a summary of affected routes and make some suggestions about how to get to us most easily. Please leave extra time for your journey.

The closest disruption is that Dumbreck Road will be closed meaning that junction 1 of the M77 will be closed and there will be no access to the church coming past Bellahouston Park and Pollok Park. Shields Road and Scotland Street will also be closed so exiting the M8 Eastbound with the aim of coming up Darnley Street will not be possible. The Kingston Bridge will also be closed making travel along the Clydeside Expressway pointless.

Our suggestions are as follows:

From the Northwest: Travel through the Clyde Tunnel and aim to join the M8 at Helen Street (Beside Asda). Get onto the M74 and take the exit at Polmadie (Junction 1A/A728). Turn right under the M74 and drive until the next Junction (Calder Street) where you will want to be in the right lane to turn right onto Calder Street (A useful landmark here is Zion Baptist Church on the corner). Continue along Calder Street until you reach Pollokshaws Road. Continue across Pollokshaws Road until you reach a roundabout. Go straight at the roundabout heading for the traffic lights you will see there. Turn left at the Traffic lights and then right after Sainsburys Local. You will then be on Fotheringay Road.

From the West: Get onto the M74 and take the exit at Polmadie (Junction 1A/A728).

From the East and North East: Get onto the M74 and take the exit at Polmadie (Junction 1A/A728). Turn left at the traffic lights at the end of the slip road and drive until the next Junction (Calder Street) where you will want to be in the right lane to turn right onto Calder Street (A useful landmark here is Zion Baptist Church on the corner).
