2 Days Until 10 Years

One of the first Christian books I remember reading was 'Spiritual Leadership' by J. Oswald Sanders. In it he says that 'True greatness, true leadership, is found in giving yourself in service to others, not in coaxing or inducing others to serve you.' The clear implication is that the language of humility and service trumps the language of honour and superiority. The culture of leadership in the church tells you a lot about the charcter of the leaders.

As I reflect on things I am thankful for 10 years into our church planting journey I think this matter of servant leaders is one of the great blessings I see as I look around Harvest Glasgow. What I see day in day out and week in week out in the church from our Elders to our small group leaders to our ministry leads is an attitude of being willing to do whatever it takes to make things work and, most importantly, to make Jesus known.
